If it is all about you how much is it worth?

You have probably been watching the local and national news reports about the growing pressure to “OPEN THINGS UP” and the continuing urging of National, State and Local officials to continue to support the safety guidelines.
This Pandemic is no joke. Hundreds of thousands are ill or have died, there is little known about the air borne virus and the only thing that seems to slow the spread is staying apart.
Why the almost insane pressure to “open up the economy," walk along the beach, start up MY small business, go into the mall get or away from those in our homes?
So here are some questions for you.
How much are these worth to you?
Dinner out
Trip to the mall
Walk on the beach
Meet at the bar
Go to the movie
Open your business
Right to gather
If you knew that participating in even one of these would cost someone a serious illness or even death would you do it?
As I watch the screaming protesters on television claiming their rights are being usurped, I wonder how they would react if someone with COVID -19 walked into the nursing home where they have stashed their parents or grandparents and coughed in their loved one's face.
It may just be that our government has actually figured out a way to alienate us by trying to protect us from the worst plague in modern history.
Perhaps the old adage is more accurate now than ever: “Don’t try to save them from themselves; they don’t appreciate it.
As you're considering all of this try thinking about the guy or gal lying in a hospital in your town, on a ventilator, slowly dying and asking themselves with what little mental capacity is still working, ”How did this happen to me?”
I don’t know about you, but I do not want to be his answer to that question.
Think before you act.
