The nonprofit, which works with families before they reach crisis, has appointed Angela Bonds as director of External Partnerships and Government Affairs. Bonds will lead Better Together's engagement with government agencies, elected officials, employers, churches, and community organizations to expand opportunities for families. 
Angela Bonds brings government affairs experience to Better Together, helping strengthen partnerships before families reach a crisis. She comes to the job after years in state government, where she worked in legislative affairs, public policy, and government relations. Her background includes working with members of the Legislature, state agencies, and local governments to advance policy and build relationships across the public and private sectors, as well as advising executive leadership. "Better Together has built an incredible model that brings people together to strengthen families before they reach a crisis," Bonds said. "I'm honored to join an organization that believes lasting change happens through collaboration." Better Together CEO Megan Rose said Bonds' experience building relationships across government and the community will help the organization keep expanding its reach. ___ More good news about a good guy — KPMG has hired David Mica Jr. as a Managing Director and Client Relationship Executive in its Tallahassee office. Mica joins the Big Four firm's Florida government services practice after more than five years as executive vice president of Public Affairs at the Florida Hospital Association. 
David Mica Jr. takes his Tallahassee Rolodex to KPMG after years of public service and advocacy. He started in the Executive Office of the Governor under Charlie Crist and Rick Scott, ran legislative affairs at the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and moved to the Florida Lottery as Chief of Staff. Scott named him interim Secretary in 2017 and CEO of Volunteer Florida in 2018, where he led the agency through the recovery from Hurricane Michael. His last state post was Chief of Staff at the Department of Children and Families. His father, David Mica, was Executive Director of the Florida Petroleum Council for decades. His uncles, Republican John Mica and Democrat Dan Mica, served in Congress for Florida. Senate President-designate Jim Boyd called him "an influential advocate whose word carries weight," and House Speaker-designate Sam Garrison described him as "a principled, strategic thinker who knows Florida." ___ More good news about great people — Ryan Gorman and Dana McKay are expanding to Orlando. Starting today, "The Ryan Gorman Show" airs weekdays from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on NewsRadio WFLA Orlando. The show originates live from NewsRadio WFLA in Tampa and already airs on WIOD in Miami. That covers Tampa Bay, Orlando, and South Florida every weekday morning. Veteran news anchors Nathalie Rodriguez and Chris Trenkman are on the show, and Orlando listeners get local news, traffic, and weather throughout the morning. 
Ryan Gorman and Dana McKay are expanding their morning-show footprint, bringing their distinctly Florida conversation to Orlando. "Ryan and Dana have built a show that is informative, entertaining and distinctly Florida," said iHeartMedia Orlando Market President Judy Copier. Gorman started in radio at 16. He knows how to make a complicated news story easy to follow. He also hosts national iHeartRadio shows on NewsTalk about positive community efforts. McKay comes from Top 40 radio and covers the trending stories, social media, and pop culture. She is a mother of two and brings that perspective to the news.
