Extensive Media Enterprises Good Friday morning. Republican congressional candidate Luke Murphy is introducing himself to voters across Northwest Florida with his first TV ad. The campaign announced Thursday that the 30-second spot, titled “Not Done,” is beginning to air on broadcast and cable in Florida’s 2nd Congressional District. The ad centers on Murphy’s service in Iraq, where he lost a leg. “In 2006, an IED in Sadr City, Baghdad took my right leg,” Murphy says in the ad. “Forty-one surgeries later, and I’m still standing, because giving up wasn’t in me.” “I served two tours in Iraq to protect this country. Now I’m running for Congress to protect her again, by securing the border, enacting term limits, lowering costs for Florida families and taking care of our veterans,” he says in the spot. Murphy is one of eight Republicans vying to succeed retiring U.S. Rep. Neal Dunn. He faces Keith Gross, Republican Party of Florida Chair Evan Power, Austin Rogers, Lee Jon Jones, Nick Lewis, Jim Norton and Audie Rowell in the Aug. 18 Primary. View the ad here.
